I agree with much of what Abdul Hakim Murad says in this lecture but I have one question that perhaps someone can help me with? In the Qur'an there does seem to be an explicit denial of the crucifixion of Jesus (Isa'). However, according to the historical evidence, it looks highly probable that Jesus was in fact crucified. Gerd Ludeman- perhaps one of the most sceptical NT scholars- argues that the crucifixion of Jesus is the best attested fact about him. How do Muslims deal with this problem?
