Mossberg Model 88 Maverick

This is my shotgun, 12 gauge 5 shot magazine without the wooden stop in it of course. Not a very high quality shotgun only forked out 150 dollars at academy for it. The Maverick 88 is a less costly to manufacture, simplified version of the pump action, 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.
Factory Maverick 88's feature a black, synthetic only stock and forearm, cylinder bore (although chokes are available), and cross-bolt safety. Accessories are mostly compatible with the Mossberg 500.
The Maverick line of shotguns are assembled in Eagle Pass, Texas using foreign (Non-USA) manufactured parts, mainly from Mexico; which contributes to their relatively lower price in comparison to the Mossberg 500 series of shotguns which is assembled and manufactured in the USA.

I bought this gun 10 years ago, and it was the best gun for the money I have bought yet. I have owned and shot several shotguns, moss500, moss590,rem870,win1300, and the old Maverick is my favorite of the bunch. The maverick is light weight, inexpensive, and contrary to what the video author states is mostly compatible with parts from the mossberg 500 series. In fact I have a mossberg 500 synthetic replacement stock on my maverick 88. I highly recommend.

As another poster said, Mossberg 500 stocks will fit this gun. ATI and several other companies make tactical stocks and pistol grips that will work on this model. This is one of the best values in a shotgun ANYWHERE.

Will fit for sure. And it is the best 159 dollar gun ever. I'm 28 now I got mine for Christmas when I was 13. The only thing that ever broke was the white bead at the end of barrel, and I'm to blame for that. Trust me this gun is built for life. Just clean the damn thing from time to time.
