  • I absolutely love this movie. Saw it 3 times during its theatrical run. Best scene in the whole movie was Jim Varney and Lea Thompson (as the french tutor) talking in the bedroom where she says the word HAPPINESS and it sounds like A PENIS.

"Happiness is so hard to find."

I laughed for hours after that scene. But as someone else stated, this was definitely one of the best TV to film adaptations. I never get tired of seeing it.

  • Best theatrical adaption of a TV sitcom ever!

  • "Watch yer head granny!" BOOM!! Hahahaha

  • "Ha-ppiness." LMOL

  • Watch your head granny lol. This movie never gets old

  • I always thought Jim Varney (Ernest) was the weirdest choice for Jed Clampett's role. :D

  • the 90's made the best movies, best music, best shows, best people...ahem like myself...too bad i can't go back and just bask in the awesomeness that is the 90's

  • Amazingly funny movie. It never gets old. I always LMAO when Jed whips out the double barrel shotgun.. "This here's what I carry!" :D There's also a very touching father/daughter scene between Jim Varney and Erika Eleniak where she is upset and outside sitting in a tree, and he tells her how much she reminds him of her mother & how much he misses her.. gets me every time :'/ (sniff). Too bad Jim Varney has passed on. Such a talented man.. rest in peace.

  • LOLOL!!! GRANNY HITTING THE TREE BRANCH.......EPIC!!!

  • this film is fucking funny, love that bank chairman, he is funny as fuck

  • @ROB6ZOMBIE666 stupid, but very funny :D

  • The reason this theatrical remake worked is because it stayed true to the characters of the original show. The only difference is they were living in the 90s instead of the 60s, which made them seem even more atinquated. Of course, that added to the humor of the film as well.
