I do not have an idea why some of you guys refers to the skills needed to write a salescopy page or a squeeze page as copyrighting, copyrighting is the legal knowledge related to protecting the writes that writer have over their material, the skills to write a salescopy are known as copywriting techniques, nothing to do with copyrighting

there are two issues in relation with this as I see it: one is that for not native English speakers - as myself - both words sound very similar; the second is that copyright is a more well known word, but copywriting is not even in the dictionaries yet (some editors will transform it to "copyrighting" automatically), it is a specific word of Internet marketing and you need to be part of that world to know it.

The word is copywriting, which refers to writing copy.
