The city and county agreed to a friendly bet on which organization's employees could donate more money per capita as a way to boost support of the annual United Way of Tarrant County campaign. The top elected official of the winning organization earned a ride in a pedi-cab provided by Fairmount Bike Taxi with the losing organization's top elected official providing the pedal-pushing power.
The city's total of more than $171,000 averaged $27.22 donated per employee. The county's total of more than $75,000 averaged $17.05 per capita. That landed Mayor Price in the passenger seat with Judge Whitley driving the pedi-cab in Sundance Square
As United Way of Tarrant County President & CEO points out, everyone is a winner in this instance!
