Pan Am 747 over the Beaches of Rio de Janeiro

A special low altitude flight over the famous beaches of Rio de Janeiro. This was a regular Pan Am flight from New York to Buenos Aires via Rio de Janeiro. It was on Jan. 1st 1989 New Year. During the New Years Eve a boat with 150 passengers ( Bateau Mouche) watching the fireworks at Copacabana Beach capsized that night with 55 persons drowned at this accident. The plane is flying right over that spot next to Sugar Loaf and in front of Leme Beach

Brazilian flight attendants were employed as far as I remember 1990 when they serviced the GIG EZE flights in order to reduce costs for US personnel

i lived 2 years in the most beauty city, know almost all roads i saw here..

this city is like a very beautiful flower , but deadly dangerous sometimes :)

I have this on CD also, Willy was kind enough to send it to me some years back from the Pan Am site. I worked for Pan Am so this is very special to me. While working for Pan Am I flew to Rio 35 times, since then I fell in love with the city and have now been there over 60 times. Thanks for the memories of Pan Am.
