  • sweet, let's let it self oscillate for six and a half minutes while the viewer is trying to listen to the guy talk, that's neither annoying to listen to nor distracting at all

  • the plug is amazing folks

  • I'm in SJ and I gotta say UAD keep doing what you do! You guys are the best! Just bought a Duo Satellite in addition to my (2)

pci-e cards for my studio/laptop setups trying out the moog and it sounds awesome!

  • It does sound similar to my Moogerfooger, but I much prefer the sound of the hardware, specially fo the price, even if there's only Low Pass mode available.

  • Ugh, why does he have the resonance cranked to full for the whole demo? It's nice that it can self-oscillate without sounding digital, but I'm more interested in the filter's "sweet spot" where the resonance is adding a tasteful amount of 'squish' and not just acting like a sweepable sine wave generator.

  • @moreausylvain EQ's can be just as close. More people bitch about them because more people use them then filter knob plugins. Nothing can be exactly like hardware. But UA stuff is pretty damn close.

  • @dannycurtean Yes, in some ways a filter is like an EQ -- One knob acts as a full range sweepable low pass. But moog has their own unique sound and I think UAD came really close. The other features, such as distortion sound really warm. Try the demo!

  • @thelightcommeth This day in age a pedal would be inconvenient for most setups as most people run everything out of the box. Plus a pedal doesn't save with your project. And automation? Forget it. I have tried the demo with this moog filter and it's very close to the real moog filters.

  • @moreausylvain Let me clarify. An EQ is an Equalizer. What does an EQUALIZER do? Well, it EQUALIZES the harmonic content in favor of a different low to high or vice versa balance. A filter on the other hand FILTERS. Like a coffe filter...it filters out the bad stuff and leaves you a good cup-o'coffee. They are not the same....therefore they are different. Filters can be close to the real deal because they are meant to take out and not add anything, be it harmonic content or saturation.

  • @dannycurtean

if EQ emulations are "not close to the real deal!!" then why can filters be?

    eqs, are filters.

  • @moreausylvain lol, I am a big analog head, but when it comes to these things, like filters, IBP's, Transient Designers and the like, I will take a good plugin like the one's available for UAD than the real thing simply because of the multiple usage of "one" plugin. And I highly doubt that something like a real SPL TD will sound any better than UAD's plugin. Now Compression and EQ emulations and tape saturation is a completely different story all together! Not even close to the real deal!!

  • All in all, a bunch of useless sounds lmao.

Use it for phattening things up..

  • Yeah although this plug has an spacing, 3modes of filter and a LFO, it lacks alot character from the original MF101 imo...

You cant really descirbe the feeling of hearing a genuine 101 over this plugin..

On the other hand it is a neat addition to the choice in UAD plugins...it sounds rather okay for a SW plug....but for 199? i believe it costs? I cant understand choosing SW over HW...like you really need more than one of the same filter in a track :)

  • the best plugin....while all other plugins sound cold and digital, this one really rocks. arturia, native instruments, wake up!

  • Chris read what i wrote for the prices??

Also the plug in runs on far more hardware than a stand alone pedal..windows, CPU, uad card, ram far more to go wrong and configure but the do sound excellent

  • you cant get a USED pedal for $150 lol but you can get a plug in for $199 - vouchers - $25 christmas voucher

  • yeah, i have UAD1 so this filter works in uad1 too? or just UAD2!

coz i wounder UAD1 missing thing AnalogeFilter!

  • here's a sample of my moogerfooger pedal. synth is circuit bended toy synth

    motthieu . free . fr / moogerfooger . mp3

    to be there's no comparison...

  • exactly what I thought. The Moogerfooger is a sound bash... UAD should give more tweaking opportunities or I'll get the original. Seen, Heard, Drooled ;)

  • i have a moogerfooger filter pedal

don't want to bash this plugin, but my first impressions : it sounds too clean, and lacks the warmth & presence of the original.

the original is also quite unstable.

don't know how much they will sell this plug but don't forget you can find a REAL moogerfooger for 150 $ ...

  • need some audio comparison from a fortunate owner of both original Moog and UAD...

    Gearslutz :)

  • nicey!!

  • I love that sample-and-hold/random filter at the end of the video!
