This is a song by 8 in 8, a musical collaboration between Ben Folds, Amanda Palmer, Damien Kulash and Neil Gaiman. They are so named because they went into the studio last week with the intent to write and record 8 songs in 8 hours. The actual result was 6 songs in 12 hours, but they're very good songs. They're released under Creative Commons, and can be downloaded from Amanda's website: http://music.amandapalmer.net/album/nighty-night
On her blog, Amanda requested strange cover versions of the songs, including Finnish, ASL, and Morse Code. Always happy to do strange things for a good cause -- or for no reason at all, which is often better -- I took the track of "Nikola Tesla," stripped out the vocals (although a couple remain), and added the Morse. It's only about 30-35 WPM, so of necessity the lyrics are somewhat abridged.
Next time: "The Problem With Saints" in Esperanto.
Catchy melody!! I'm beginning to see messages in my pee stream every morning...
