Let's look at some facts.
1.The total costs of medical treatment in the Unites States attributable to eating meat are $30 to $60 billion dollars a year. Much of this stems from heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, gallstones and obesity. This doesn't take into account a lot of the food-borne illnesses, such as E coli, which has been prevalent in the country this year. Topps, a distributor of ground beef, recalled 330,000 pounds of ground beef this year due to their meat being tainted with manure. It caused the Topps company to go out of business.
2.In 1997, the World Cancer Research Fund recommended a diet that is high in plant based foods, along with nuts, fruits and whole grains. At the very least, they recommend that we limit our intake of grilled, cured and smoked meats and fish. The process used in making these cured and grilled meats produce polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heterocyclic amines. All of these things are carcinogens.
3.There are about 3 dozen foods that are proven to have cancer fighting properties. These foods include broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower, which are cruciferous vegetables. Umbelliferous vegetables and herbs, such as carrots, celery, cilantro, caraway, dill, and parsley also help fight cancer. There are many other fruits and vegetables, such as oranges and grapefruit, tomatoes, cucumbers, cantaloupe, grapes and berries that are very beneficial to your health. The best beans, high in protein, include kidney, Lima, pinto, cranberry, navy, Great Northern, garbanzo, soy, and black-eyed peas. Whole grains such as brown rice, oats and whole wheat are also provide special nutrients. (by DoItYourSelf.com)

  • I'm working towards going Vegan, i don't miss meat at all or milk, in fact my skin and immune system are tons better since I quit milk, I'm still having the odd bit of cheese though but I'm going to learn to cook so I can find alternative things to snack on. I have to say Soya yogurt was HORRID, I won't be making that a regular occurrence in my diet but I love tofu!

  • Great video, it's time to have vegan schools, universities and VEGAN TEACHERS. THE whole vegan perspective its the best one to solve all problems in the world. Why would I trust a POLITICIAN who eats meat, why would i respect anyone who eats meat if they don;t show respect for other animals? Eating dead meat, will make you think like a dead person. If society is run by meat-eaters, all laws, regulations and solutions will be from a eating-meat perspective, which means greedy and dead perspective

  • Nine times out of ten, any vegan I speak to online is some gung-ho "I benchpress 300 lbs and will NEVER EVER EVER get colon cancer, you stupid carni-tard" asswipe who thinks he's some kind of Marine just because he stopped eating certain kinds of food.

    I dont care what you eat, but I dont slap you in the face with a T-Bone steak when we go out to a restaurant, so keep your salad on your plate, shut your lip, open your mouth, and eat it.

    That said, glad you're enjoying the lifestyle :)

  • Some people cant just be happy with their lifestyle, they have to advertise and show the whole damn world "Look at meeeee, see how great I am?"

    This is one small reason why I'd never become a vegan (though far from the most important one); It's 'Fashionable'.

    I hear far less about the actual medically verified pros and cons, and far more about moral arguments and guilt. It seems like most Vegans I meet are simply looking for an artificial way to inflate their own ego, to feel superior.
