We have been hearing for years and years the latest tablet that would take on the Ipad and with companies like Samsung and Hewlett Packard both failing to deliver, Amazon has the best value priced tablet yet, However it won't be able to stop the Ipad's juggernaut sales at all. I have a Kindle Fire and I have an Ipad. If you are looking for a "cheap" tablet with no apps and you just want to browse the net, then the Fire is for you, however, it has NO cameras or Microphone and NO APPS from Android

@fantom0369 I personally own both of these devices, and I have to admit for the price, the Kindle Fire is a pretty good buy. HOWEVER, it does NOT have any cameras, or microphone. Plus, you CANNOT buy applications from the Android market, you must buy them from Amazon itself, and their application selection is nothing great at this time. If you are cheap, and do not care about Apps or Music for your tablet, then go with the Fire for basic computing, if you want all the cool stuff, stick with Ipad

you people saying the ipad smokes the kindle fire...well for the price difference I would hope so...this tablet is a decent buy for the price, if you are looking for an ipad save and get an ipad, I'm gonna get one of the kindle fire myself, I personally hate paying apple for their overpriced garbage, and the ipad does not have 2 engines, it has a dual core in it...so doesn't this, and buying a tablet for a camera is like buying a car for its stereo, arrogant and stupid

This is crap trust me it ain't got a camera or FaceTime and pretty much posed iPad 2!!!! The iPad has 2 engines inside the iPad that go wwaayy faster trust me!!!!!!
