A Look Into the Horse Slaughter Industry - Presidio, Texas

Animals' Angels investigators did an investigation in Oct. 2010 and visited the Presidio, Texas Livestock Export Pens. During the investigation it was uncovered that these pens are not just short term holding pens used for the export of horses to Mexico, but also a feedlot. These pens are privately owned and are not under the Texas Agriculture's jurisdiction like the other export pens in the state of Texas.

@sohcsarewicked - horses are not slaughter in the United States anymore. These horses are at the Texas-Mexico border and will be shipped to Mexico for slaughter.

Here is an image for you: every single one of these horses are long dead, served up on a cracker or a plate for the dining pleasure of about 10 minutes time if you don't count the liquor and laughter going along with it...just a meal, Only a meal... Then to be evacuated in a toilet the next day..... every gorgeous former racer, former beloved pet former feral wild desert creature you see, nothing but a meal.....not one of necessity but purely option. Makes me ill just writing this......

Hey anyone know where I can get some horsemeat in the USA? I always heard it was good and lean, just wanted to know before I go out here and poach me one of my neighbors. When will you realize that seeing an animal to the end of it's life is your responsibility from the moment you take ownership of it. You should not profit from getting rid of your unwanted horses to slaughter. End of story.
