On September 13, 2008, Hurricane Ike made landfall on Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston Island. During the night, the ocean surged and rose around the remaining residents, blocking off all hopes of escape. This tribute, created on October 12, is dedicated to our beloved Bolivar, and all she lost. I went down the peninsula where we once owned a property at Rollover Pass in Gilchrist. My teenage son, Thomas, was with me. I held him a little closer that day. Remember the lost. Let's "Bring Back Bolivar". Song is "Hey You", by Pink Floyd (The Wall).
