How is this HD? The XL1 only shoots SD?
-
Hello, This camera does not shoot in HD. It does have the option for 16:9, but you have to be out of auto mode. Go to Manual mode. Although camera does not shoot in HD, your software will still allow you to render in HD. Keep in mind just because you can render in HD doesn't mean your video will look like HD. Have fun....

I just got this camera a couple days ago!
Best Camera ever!
Trust me!

@ADNOfficialgroup You can select from 4:3 or 16:9 in the settings menu on the camera.
-
@josh221212 ??? You can't? It's possible with Software but original 4:3 no?
-
@moo2thetube Yeah, the zoom goes faster and slower depending on how far down you press the zoom button. So if you press it in less deep it will zoom much smoother.
Are you Sure that this is not a XL 1S or a SL 2? I wanna buy this Camara, and your video is one of the biggest pros so far, so this is kinda important…

Hello. I'm a young film maker that wants to shoot a low budget slasher movie. i want a professional look, but I don't need anything too great. I want a quality somewhere along the lines of this, but i wanted to know if this is the camera i should buy or if there is one that will suit my project better. Thanks

@WhereIsKyleGass15 In my opinion on a budget, it's better to go with dSLR gear because the body's are cheaper and the lenses are cheaper. They can give you a very professional look with great depth of field etc. However, you'd still need to invest in things like tripods, and especially with dSLR's external audio recording, such as the Zoom H2N. The thing with the XL1 is it's a bit outdated now - not HD and uses miniDV.
