Prophecy should be used during a meeting of Gods people to build up and edify the Body of Christ. Building up and edifying is not prophesying.

@theprophetplace Yep looked it up. Here is Strongs definition of prophesy: to foretell events, divine, speak under inspiration, exercise the prophetic

office:--prophesy. You redefine prophesy to the point that the Spirit is not needed. Again prophesy should be used to build up and edify, but it is a supernatural Spiritual gift. You can experience Gods actual power and authority through actual spiritual gifts if you Ask, Seek , and Knock.

But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation. One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church.

So according to the bible the one who prophesies edifies.

Put down your dictionary, throw out your theology and start reading the BIBLE!

Good sharing David, indeed as we do what the Lord says, ie to love Him and to love our neighbour, there is endless things Jesus can do through us.

@theprophetplace So, If you build up and edify your propheseying? then if your edifying yourself you must be speaking in a tongue. Paul expected people to have a basic understanding of words and their meanings. He was explaining purpose of Spiritual gifts not redefining common words as he wrote. The "church" today has a form of godliness yet denies the power thereof, from such turn away.Read 2Tim.3 We are supposed to be the Body of Christ and be empowered by the Spirit to do what Christ did.
