Because they don't roll out millions of them. They are pretty much made to order and are made with the best technology at the time. And lenses cost a crap load because they are so perfectly constructed. They have to be built very accurately.

Its crazy. Depending on the model, those cameras can cost upwards of 30 grand. Why so pricey?

he almost totaled the equivilant of a brand new truck, that was close. You know in the old days they used to make the betacams that could take a fall like that.
