A turtle takes us on a panoramic tour of divesites at Balicasag Island, Bohol, Philippines. Along the way, we encounter a signature school of Jackfish, an Orangutan Crab, a Scribbled Filefish, Trumpetfish, and a cute Juvenile Boxfish. We accidentally cross over the nesting area of a Titan Triggerfish and the result is predictable. Dove with Bohol Fun Divers based at Alona Beach, who come recommended. The soundtrack is particularly relevant as it makes references to "sailing to Cebu". Videod in HD using a Lumix ZS3, edited with Muvee Reveal 8. Enjoy the ride!

  • is the camera you used waterproof?

  • @meljhie2 Hi...The camera itself is not waterproof. I have a waterproof plastic housing that I place the camer in.

  • @oceanic16 thank you. Simply beautiful :)) what kind of waterproof plastic did you use? I appreciate it.

  • @meljhie2 I use the Panasonic housing that was specifically made for the Lumix ZS3. That would be the DMWMCTZ7 Marine Case. Both the camera and case are no longer in production, but you should be able to get a lightly used one on Ebay.

  • Thank you Po!

  • The shoundtrack is fantastic! The melody - haunting.... who has sung it?

  • @captainneerajmishra I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The soundtrack is from Enya. I liked the fact that she makes reference to Cebu, which is the adjacent island from where this video was made.

  • Great video! The Philippines has amazing underwater life.

  • Great Vid, love the bit with the turtle, with such good viz it feels like you're flying not swimming! Subbed.

  • The strange thing is - we dived a couple of times at Balicasag this summer. And saw a turtle like this on both dives. And - it got the same two fishes on his back. It might even be the same turtle :) Very cool...

  • wow... very beautiful! we'll be diving there this november - can't wait! :D

  • Wow! I'd like to know the names of the species seen on this dive. If someone knows them, please post a comment with names and times in which they appear. I think the one on 2:10 is a juvenile yellow boxfish (Ostracion cubicus).

  • Very nice! I've been there just this May but I havent tried Scuba diving.. Just tried snorkeling........
