@nikokensho why do people throw around the word shaman so much? words have specific meanings that deserve some respect. you can't just call someone a shaman and it be true. The word has a specific definition, a high majority of Native American tribes don't even shamanize, contrary to the belief of many on what the word means.

@Bobjb999 Thanks for pointing out the truths about Burroughs - enough of this drug war.

William Burroughs has one of the most amazing voices ever

Burroughs is making a final attempt to bring the giant down...He's in "Taser Gun" on my youtube channel

I love WSB, and have been reading him since about 1983. I have to say - his drug stuff is probably the least interesting of everything he's done, of all of his themes. Heroin is a killer, and drugs are a part of The Man and the International Syndicate. Junkies and Narcs are on the same dead-end train, going nowhere, very, very slow.

@nikokensho sorry sir but in my humble opinion i think Burroughs would not take kindly to these "observations" and neither do i. not attacking your comments i just think your view of Burroughs and junk in general are way off the mark. take no offense it was a well written comment.
Burroughs was a (if not the first, famous american) shaman in the early part of the century, what else would people expect, every now and again a truly Dionysian person will come along. It seemed he needed to retard himself with any/all forms of "junk" necessary to poison himself to a level where the stupidity and shortsightedness of others, would no longer bother him. Just my view.

The most deadly drugs Burroughs used were legal, tobacco&alcohol,NOT junk.Unlike tobacco&booze in excess, opiates, properly&hygienically dosed,do zero damage to the body. They're very addictive is all.Junk's unjustifiably illegal status only increases risk,as the black market creates uncertainty of dosage&OD risk.Legal drugs yearly kill millions more than illicit drugs could ever do.Burroughs died of a heart attack as I recall, likely due to damage from years of booze&smoking,NOT years of junk use!
