Jerry Hadley and Marilyn Horne performing All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Jerry Hadley was the leading American tenor of his generation, and remained to be one of the most sought after singers of our time.

Marilyn Horne is perhaps the greatest Mezzo Soprano of the 20th century and has been recognized for decades as one of the greatest musicians from the past 100 years.

  • The picture at 1:50 is not Jerry Hadley it's Dietrich Fischer Dieskau.

  • @seektheforce Yes it is, check Google Images using Jerry's name. It's quoted in several newspapers, and there is a closeup image of Jerry in the exact same costume.

Jerry Hadley Rest in peace We Love you!

Marilyn I want to meet you so bad! I love you as well!

  • This is very, very beautiful, thanks for posting it!

It is a lovely and loving tribute to two great singers. It's true that they were both quintessentially American. Sills was, too, and there are lots of other superb American operatic singers, past and present.

  • @seektheforce Glenmed used that photos in two of his Papageno arias - one for D F-D and later for another baritone - maybe Walter Berry or Hermann Prey - but this sure looks like Hadley

  • @seektheforce D F-D wore the same costume in a production of Magic Flute - but that doesn't look like D F-D at all.

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever written and two wonderful singers.

  • Fabulous singing from Marilyn of course. This is the first time I have heard Jerry Hadley and the warmth of his voice is so seductive and perfect for thissong

  • Yes-- Jerry and Horne both fine American artists. She was a super star world wide and of Course another great American tenor voice in the 70's and beyond is Neil Shicoff. Hadley is sorely missed he sang both opera and popular with equally polished taste.
