actually you dont need to create "biodiesel" for most diesel engines. If you use brand new cooking oil usually you can just pour it into the tank and it will work straight away (although there will be less power)
you do however need to use this process if you use USED cooking oil (after 2 or 3 stage filtering to remove all the food particles)

Then add up the total cost of farming that much seed to make that much vegetable oil.
