Push-ups are the best body weight exercise for your chest.
Stability ball crunches are the best abdominal exercise for your abs.
Combine the two with a fun rotation and you have a superset which will burn out your chest, abs, core, triceps, and shoulders.
This is a great way to finish off a workout or it could be your whole core + chest workout if you are short on time, or would rather be doing something fun, other than hanging out with a bunch of sweaty guys in a gym.
Your core will fatigue during your pushups maybe even more than your chest.
If your hips start sagging towards the floor, you can continue because you will still be working your chest if your back does not hurt.
If your back is arching excessively you probably have anterior pelvic tilt. This is a common muscle imbalance which you can read about here: http://AskTheTrainer.com/posture-problems.html
You can perform this on a regular stability ball if you are on a surface in which the ball won't roll away, or one of the new BOSU Ballast balls which remain in the same position.
