Ugh, so many mistakes in the lyrics! Unless there's a different version than the one I've always heard, he is seriously bad at remember the words and what order they go in, i.e. "one for me" instead of "life to be".

Nah, it's just that it's a classical arrangement of a song that is usually sung in a jazz style. Personally I'm not used to hearing a sax in that style.
