  • ey jan- pretty good for a maiden :D for my winglets i lined the wing tips with a peice of thin aluminium, then riteweaved over that, then used sheet metal screws to attach the coreflute winglets. really strong and easy to replace/ remove if need be. CK from ritewing says goop (silicone) is the preferred method.

the iyf has scorpion motor s2205-36, 9g hitec carbon gear servos and the first time we run 3s 1000mah flat pack. I will add another battery for next flight, otherwise it's very friendly as it is. well perhaps i cut those winglets smaller.

the zeph - im not too sure yet. im still looking for inspiration, the last time I was into rc is about 15 years ago and now, when I saw the fpv thing going on, I have reason for a comeback ;)

good tip on those winglets !

  • @OK2BCK did the balance point work out? you really need it to balance about 7 and a half inches from the nose to fly right.

  • @brosius85 yeah mate, I had a black point right there and we got it spot on with some lead. just need to add another battery. cant wait for the weekend ;)

hey ever heard about 90 inch ritewing?

  • @OK2BCK yeah man but you know how dear they are :D few too many dollars for me. not to mention the mega powertrain you would have to do it justice... and then how do you lug it around? my zephyr only just fits in the car!

  • @brosius85 I had the idea to make decent uav for flying along beaches but yeah, the ppe gets expensive with the wingspan. I would not mind detachable wings from the center section if I go that big. My friend makes carbon fiber car parts so I will try and get into making fiberglass shells one day soon. I am very motivated!
