  • @orriblebob i just realised if you pause at 0:10 you can see logo on headstock but is unreadable but look at fretboard ..the inlays are ' T ' ' T ' [ Tony Thorpe ] so it must be a bespoke guitar and only guy who comes to mind who was building for 70's rockers like Slade , Black Sabbath etc ..is John Birch but logo doesnt look like John Birch , if anything it could be 'Burny' but that's Japanese ... other UK electric luthiers then were Cairns from North East who made the gun guitar...

  • @triumphadelic The neck looks a bit Gibsonish to me, but the body looks like an Ibanez.

    Could be a hybrid....................

  • @BADHALOMEDIA

A great assessment, of a great band.

  • Massively talented band that got shunted into mock glam rock. Seriously talented bunch.

  • best song The Beatles never wrote.... it has very Harrisonesque lead breaks circa White album/Abbey Road prob thru a Vox AC30 amp... anyway... does anyone know what make of guitar Tony Thorpe (lead singer/white guitar) is ? anyone?

  • Heard this for the first-time ever (on a Top of the Pops re-run the other night). Sounds very much like an early Beatles song sung by John Lennon but that's no bad thing! Really neat song, thanks for posting.

  • Now I know why this song always sounds different to me, Tony is singing the lead vocals here

  • I don't understand how this band do it. But man o man, they do it. Musical joy!

  • Excellent !!!Thank you for sharing,

  • @smokiesteele I'd rather call them the CRAP four... how dare you compare them to the almighty Beatles!

  • The end of that is from something by the beatles

  • Great job!

  • absolute famous

  • boarding school memories

  • If your first name is ainttheoldstuffgreat, your last name should be "Yes".

    Bye!

  • A top 3 song in Holland.

    Great.

  • A great track that was a much bigger hit in Europe.

The band are still going strong as a live attraction and attracted over 3000 people to their gig in Berlin last weekend.

The track for this performance was re-recorded (in 4 hours - those were the Musicians Union rules in those days) and has a slightly rockier feel than the record.

Fascinatingly, Lemmy of Motorhead once listed it as his favourite record !

  • Möchte an dieser Stelle Sandweier grüßen!

  • and don't forget the Glitter Band!!!!!

  • a perfect performance of this teriffic song
