The wife and I rode the Great Allegheny Extension from Pittsburgh to the C&O to DC. We camped along the way so we were carrying ALL of our equipment.

The Honey Bee was invaluable as the single wheel BOB trailer was HORRIBLE. (broke three times, and broke the bicycle twice).

If you watch the video I think you could figure out that there are some simple design flaws with the Honey Bee. I am sure there is a good trailer out there, this one is not one and I wish you good luck finding it!

  • Watch the review again you will notice the rain fly is too narrow. Velcro is not a shelf stretcher. Furthermore, that is a clear design flaw, something that should have been fixed in QA not by the consumer. To further prove my point, take a look at any recent model year Burley, you will find that all of them have been fixed and the rain fly properly covers what it should.

  • Hey, I'm not saying Jr needs to stay spotless but I would rather not intentionally fling dirt, rocks, etc at him.

  • If you are hauling stuff around you should use the Nomad not a child trailer

  • @xlinzx88x what flaw is that?

  • Burley is now making their trailers in China. I have an old model (USA made) D'Lite model which is far better. I use mine to haul camping gear and gospel tracts and signs. It is very strong and light too (20 lbs.)

  • UNbelievably silly. Wow. That's it? That's the "ONLY" thing you can find wrong with it and why you're giving it a 0 rating?

Like others have said, go buy some velcro at Walgreen's and handle your next review with a little more common sense. You would have been a hero (or at least clever) if you had suggested velcro as a tip yourself. Instead you come off as an irrational nitpicker with OCD.

  • I saw this review on Amazon. I still bought this trailer. Seriously, why can't you pick up a roll of self adhesive Velcro (1.99 on eBay) and put it on the cover? Pure laziness.

On another note: the chariot cougar 1 has pretty fantastic reviews, I debated buying that but someone on amazon said it tipped over while they were riding. Between a trailer tipping or a tiny gap, I went for the burley.

Burley honey bee is a great trailer, with one teeny flaw that can be fixed with a few seconds.

  • F.E.N.D.E.R,

  • interesting review.... this bike trailer is not meant for trails, it's designed for paved surfaces only. There are bike trailers that are designed for hauling gear only. The gap the rain cover creates is not an issue really. The trailer get draft and what small amount of direct wind it does get keeps the rain guard flush so I haven't found rain or rocks to be an issue since the mesh is designed to keep rocks out when the rain guard isn't in place.

  • nice review
