This was filmed on mobile phone as a massive caravan truck overtook us at over 50mph. Slightly dangerous and not really allowed!! Single lane approaching as well
@kerednotsobig1 Were you driving the truck w/the house on or something? Why are you on his side?
He shouldn't even have overtaken in the first place - he's not supposed to even come within 10mph of what the van can. Overtaking lane shouldve been full of cars doing 60, but instead he hogged it to perform an illegal & highly dangerous move.
Van is likely near-flat-out, but the driver may've eased off a bit on seeing the truck - but, if the truck then slows because of the hill, it still won't fit
@TahreyUK so why keep at 50 and keep the truck stuck there???? the truck is limited to 50 on a dual carriageway........ and you kept it going at that speed to hold him, and everyone else behind him up....
@vampy111 Spoken like a true person who's never been held up by a trucker with no sense of when it is or isn't a good idea to pull out and try for a pass on a steep hill...
@jonnyshag1 Some of them can't on a hill like that, no. Particularly not if loaded with tools and building supplies for example. Ford don't often put all so powerful engines in their commercial vehicles. So long as it's good for 70ish on the flat and so can put that top speed in the brochure, they ain't fussed...
The overtaking vehicle is legally limited to 40mph on that road. If the person filming is in a commercial van, that's limited to 50. Also, they're following at a safe distance behind another (already speeding) truck in front of them that's doing 50 ish. The overtaking lane is intended for cars and other vehicles allowed to do 60 to overtake. Save your anger for the caravan truck driver who may now be holding load of other people down by 9mph in order to illegally go 11mph faster
The speed limit is not being broken by him! and you are holding him up, I bet a few miles down the road you overtake him then slow down and hold him up again!!!!.
make sure you secure your ladders instead of worrying about filming whilst driving!!!
Personally I drive a sports sedan, and if they tried that on me, I'd just flog it back past, don't over-take unless you need to, he did NOT need to.
