Slow Motion 475 MPH Pellet Gun on Apples

1200 frames per second captures the flight of the pellets striking apples. The pellets are moving over 475 miles per hour and can be see spinning in a couple of the shots. Filmed with a Casio EX F1 camera. Pellet gun is a cheap Chinese single pump lever operated model.

It is almost torture getting good quality images at 1200 FPS because the resolution is so small. It's about 1/8 the size of the Youtube player screen. The jar segment is 600 FPS and is a much better format to record with.

The pellet gun shoots around 650 feet per second.

most of your stuff you film in 600 fps... why not 1200? i mean what's the point in filming stuff like this at 600 if you can do 1200? just curious not tryin to be an ass

@spazzz64 600fps has a lot better resolution and is a little easier to work with. 1200 fps is wide but very short so you miss a lot of the action. It's like looking through a mail slot. It's a good question. I use 1200 once in a while if it comes out good.

@jergilles Casio has several high speed (slo mo) cameras. Fujifilm is also selling a couple of high speed cameras called the H10 adn H11, I believe. You should be able to find something at that price.
