In September 2010 Sam put a newly penned song online and asked her fans to send her song name suggestions. 150 names were sent in, from which Sam picked her Top 5. Then, fans were asked to vote for their favourite to determine the competition winner and the new songs name. It was a close call but Megan Orrin from Melbourne took home the blue ribbon with 'My Left Hip Pocket'. Hoorah!

With the help of producer/engineer/multi instrumentalist (and Aria nominee) Michael Carpenter, Sam's little acoustic song was bought to life at Sydney's Love Hz Studios, helped along by Oliver Pieterse on bass & Kent Eastwood on guitar & keys.

The talented, creative and devastatingly beautiful Amber Todd of GinjaNinja Productions was also invited into Love Hz to film the days happenings and create the video clip in which Sam and all her handsome man friends star. Sam and Amber also spent some time at Sydneys Fox Studios putting on a show for the passers by.

In a stroke of good fortune this song was ready to released just in time to help promote Sam's 2011 Homeward Bound Tour. In a stroke of horrible misfortune, Queensland was hit by heavy flooding in January and then Cyclone Yasi only a few days before the singles release.
