  • Are you using the K&K pure archtop alone? I can't find a single review on that pickup system. Even at the K&K site, the only sound clips they provide for the Pure Archtop are combined with a humbucker - I'm getting real suspicious...........

  • @bammbamm12 No, the Guitar is plugged in via. pickup to a small tube amp. That sound is recorded along side the Acoustic sound of the Instrument by a mic on my right. I did record a song on my album BLUE LOGIC called "Blinded by Lies" which you can hear the K&K installed in this Guitar recorded directly. If you'd like, visit my website to stream the song (link in description). Thanks!

  • @JRobinsonsBlueLogic - Thanks! I listened. D minor blues with an A minor 5 chord - really nice. I just got a 1951 Gibson L-48 and I love it - for probably half the price of a J-45 which is ridiculous. You're the only person I know using the Pure Archtop. What do you think of it as a stand alone pickup? I haven't read any good reviews for any Archtop pickups. I don't want to install a humbucker, because at that point it could be any guitar. Thanks again.

  • @bammbamm12 Honestly, other than using it at really low volumes through an amp or plugged straight in for recording I get way too much feedback to use it in any other context.

  • I like your vibe...

  • @dean19581 Hey thanks!

  • @JRobinsonsBlueLogic - Thanks - looks like you can't do any better than a straight mic. Electric guitarists don't know how easy they've got it:)
