It would be better if these leftists INVESTED their money in health and not "the arts" like so many of them do. In 1985 leftist musicians staged a concert called Live Aid which the money mainly went to genocidal dictators in Africa.
It's very nice that Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are electing to donate half their billions to charity. There are certainly multitudes in the United States and throughout the world who need a helping hand. Yet the hand of charity only goes so far if that hand does not actually help people to stand on their own. A mere million dollar grant, perhaps doled out over a period of a few years with successive installments being contingent on demonstrable progress, could do more good than charity.
