Reject indentured servitude. Stop dealing with your creditors, stop paying back your loans. Help grow our DEBTORS' REVOLT: the intentional default-en-masse.
Just stop paying your student loans, etc. If enough people - doesn't need to be everyone, just a critical mass, say 25% - intentionally default, the financial sector will spiral into a desirable collapse.
I and many others are doing this. My student loans have effectively ceased to exist, and I am free.

When talking about the case of the guardsmen joining the revolts, I have to ask where the guardsmen in each case were from? I assume that at the time they were all from the same general area that the revolt was taking place, in which case you have a very different scenario than what could happen today. Back then it was more of a possibility that you could be shooting at someone you knew, nowadays as a matter of policy troops are never deployed to their home areas in such a situation.

@TSIMedia1 BELIEVE ME, I think about that every day! And that's been my focus these past few months: A lot of us have been speaking to inspire the change, but the magic is creating an Effective PLAN. -I'm sure the founders of America found themselves at this juncture for a while as well.
So far, my solution is: take ONE STEP at a time. Build up our resources, cause had the Colonists not done that, there wouldn't have been a Revolution.
Thanks, TSI!

There are currently, (August 2010) in the U.S.A., 20 million vacant homes (7 million of those are vacation homes).
I agree with the idea of defending ourselves against the banks, I don't think that capitalism is the culprit, i.e. capitalism is okay so long as it is limited in it's scope. The answer is limited capitalism, not socialism. It should not be a choice between being dominated by the capitalist globalists or being dominated by the elitist socialists globalists.
The real problem started when our economy was given to the private group of elitists called the Federal Reserve.

You seem to have a basic understanding of exploitation but like many Americans are not well informed as to what socialism means. It is not what the US capitalist/Republican/Tea Party media lead you to believe.

If you are part of the bottom 80% of the population socialism is the best thing for you e.g. free university, free healthcare, 1 month paid vacation by law, 1 month’s salary Christmas bonus by law, etc. All this only hurts the super rich that get taxed to pay for all this thus reducing their billion dollar profits.

Wether you pay your credit card or not, EITHER WAY the bank gets their money back, either from us, or from the government. -So not paying your credit cards does not hurt the banks what so ever. It merely frees the person from the slavery of the bank's debt tactics.
THE BEST SOLUTION is to get out of these mega-banks, close your accounts, and either sign up with local banks, credit unions, or cash your paychecks at their bank of origin, and use prepaid visa cards that don't charge interest.

Your suggestions are very pragmatic and we should all follow your lead. However, keep in mind this still leaves the question of how we reform the structure itself which is causing these cyclical collapses under capitalism benefiting only the top 1% of not socialists but capitalist.
