The Eden Project is wholly owned by the Eden Trust, an educational charity who use exhibits, events, workshops and educational programmes to remind people what nature gives to us and to help people to learn how to look after it in return. All money raised goes to further the aims of the Trust.
It welcomes over a million people every year to join in events and learn from exhibits. They try to ensure everyone who visits the site leaves knowing something more about their connections to the world.
This video is a brief snapshot of our visit in July 2009. We took our holiday in July hoping for good weather, but it rained every day for 7 days! Just as well the Eden Project is largely undercover! The rainforest biome can reach 35 degrees, and is kept at 90% humidity, so it's a steamy expedition!

  • Nothing like the real deal, in my opinion!

  • @waltercarnby Your opinion is right, but it got us out of the rain for an hour or two.

    :-)

  • Those habitat domes are built on a huge scale! I have never seen anything quite like that...

  • They sure are, Andy. The waterfall was quite impressive for a fake "indoor water feature!" :-)

  • gotta rizzler? LMAO

  • As a smoker, walking around such a green area and not being allowed to smoke, it's so unfair to see all that tobacco drying and know you can't sneak a crafty drag! LOL

  • I'm in England for six weeks every other summer (and this coming one), so I will be sure to see if I can find Cornwall and get there. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • @RobNorthampton oh that was tobacco...lol ;)

  • Thanks Curt! It was a good way to get out of the rain! The gardens are quite extensive around the biomes, but they weren't much fun when you're getting drenched trying to look at them. They also stage live acts outdoors in the evenings, but we didn't stay for that.

If I lived near you, I'd drag you out more. MTM has had too much of your time already! ;-)

  • You included so many compelling images here that I have to wonder what else there was to see if this was just a snapshot of the trip. Wow!

Looks like a terrific day spent. There are similar types of places out here but I rarely get to them anymore. This video has me regretting that a bit.
