  • What is the type of that plane?

  • It is a Silent Club made by Alisport in Italy

  • super interessante esse video.gosto de planadores eu piloto um a comtrole remoto..abraço.

  • obrigado!

  • Does it fly around amongst the hang gliders at 120 knots?

  • no.......

    118 knots is the VNE.

    silents soar at 40-46 knots.

    light weight gliders sink fast.

80 knots is appropriate to fly straight.

  • thats awsome. checkout unicyclehoopster on youube

  • @SuperAviatar nope. not hard to lift.

  • Man that thing just shot up after launch! Very cool site, and very cool sailplane.

  • now where you guna land if you dont find any lift?

  • Who was the strongman holding the tail up??!! Those things are pretty hard to lift - never mind run around with! Not many UK sites have enough slope for this trick....Long Mynd is steep enough....I`d like to get this in my logbook as a change from winch /aerotow...

  • nope,

you always land and take off into the wind...........

when you launch off the cliff you have the wind in your face......... otherwise........ big problems!!!!!

At Torrey Pines in La Jolla they do better then this:

they can take off without ground roll!!!!

vertically, if there is a strong gust.........

  • the same as everytime when you fail to find enough thermals: land anywhere else and get picked up by car. costs usually the fuel for the car and a keg of beer for the club, plus a meal for the crew that came helping.

you can see every weekend with good weather so many cars towing gliders back home on the autobahn in the late evening..

  • @grendelkeep sure but then you need to find the thermals, what do you do if you dont find any uplift?

  • Why not land where you took off?
