(for a printable recipe, go to www.JennyJones.com)

Jenny's Addictive Granola

3-1/2 cups regular oats, not instant
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup sliced almonds
3 tablespoons shredded coconut
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup pure maple syrup (or honey)
3 tablespoons canola oil

• Preheat oven to 325°.

• Grease baking sheet with canola oil.

• Combine oats, nuts, and coconut in very large bowl.

• Heat sweeteners just until melted & pour over oats. Stir very well until sticky & heavy.

• Bake about 30-35 minutes, stirring at 20 minutes, then check every 5 minutes. Bake until well browned - watch carefully.

• Remove from oven, stir and cool in pan. Don't under-bake.

  • I made this today (without the coconut and wheat germ) and it came out DELICIOUS! My family gobbled it all up. Thanks for this great recipe!

  • @BuenitaAngel - Thanks! I don't always use Wheat Germ just to change things up and sometimes I chop up whole almonds instead of sliced, but I always love this granola. (just made more this morning - hey, who keeps eating my granola?)
