Obama On WH War With Fox News: "I'm Not Losing Sleep Over It"

President Obama is asked if it is appropriate to be "working the umps" in regards to calling Fox News "not a news organization."

"I think what our advisors have simply said is that we are going to take the media as it comes, and if media is operating, basically as a talk radio format, then, that's one thing, and if it is operating as a news outlet, then that's another, but I'm not something that I'm losing a lot of sleep over."

The whole rest of the media, if they want to retain ANY credibility they have left, need to just ADMIT that Fox is not news at all and stop treating them with respect! I would do that if I ran CNN or MSNBC in a heartbeat. Why they took Fox's BS about "Bush winning Florida" in 2000 seriously and then pretended like the actual electoral results were suddenly in question is beyond me. They should've said, "No, Fox is not credible. Unless we get credible sources telling us this, it's bs."

Good on the Obama Administration for being the FIRST to finally go after Fox and admit that they're not news at all. It's a propaganda and opinion network DISGUISED as news. Their little war on Obama in 2008 was fucking disgusting. They pulled out ALL the stops to try to derail his campaign and make McCain look more palatable. Fox has no conscience whatsoever. Only 2 things factor in their mind: "How do we make our political enemies look bad?" and "How do we keep our ratings up?"

And let's not forget Fox Nation reporting an Onion piece AS IF IT WERE TRUE. And then just hours later (or a day later or whatever it was) admitting they got it wrong but NOT admitting they lied. I mean, how the fuck could you screw that up??? What, did some blind employee at Fox just 'accidentally' copy and paste an Onion article into the Fox website software?

What other explanation is there than that Fox wants to attack its political enemies at all costs, even if it means fake news?

If there's a "war" on Fox, good! Give em hell. Fuck Fox. It's little more than the media arm of the GOP. They keep proving time and again why we should not take them seriously. Latest? Some stupid memo telling "reporters" at Fox to insert "critics say" or "skeptics say", in order to muddy the waters, on global warming evidence and facts. To give the FALSE impression that the consensus doesn't exist and that there is 50-50 disagreement among scientists over whether AGW is real.

The right wing hypocrisy of the Fox network is something new on the political battlefield so this is all uncharted territory. I like the President taking on hyperbole directly, but if he is too good at it he could bring Fox and the Republican Party down. I don't like the neo conservative movement, but they have an adversarial roll to play in our politics, and shouldn't be playing wide open throttle like they are. They could be headed for a big crash, and unrestrained Democrats are bad also.
