Looks like brake discs !

Edison Diamond disc. "Vertical cut" The groove moves the needle up and down, not side to side like modern records. A little trick, reverse the phase on one Chanel of a stereo cartridge. You will hear the music more clearly with less surface noise. These were made up to 1927. Newer disc have a white label. This disc is more like 1910 -1918 with an embossed label area. The groove is a bit wider than a 78 record, but you can get good playback with a standard 78 needle.

Maybe. I related this from what a tour guide told the group as we were taken through Edison's NJ factory. She also told us that his last breathe was captured and stored in a bottle she took out of a drawer and showed us (whoever did this claimed that he captured Edison's soul). Another person nailed a chair to the floor that Edison had just risen from. Claimed he captured Edison's spiritual presense.

Now that's SILLY ! Don't so wildly exaggerate !
-
NO! Don't jam the record onto the spindle like that!

If that poor sick Maggie can play that pos, it could probably a play tuna fish sandwich and sound better...

lol edison's face on the label XD imma put my face on the labels when I start my own record company

Groovy.
Notice how thick the record is ! This was Edison's way to make rrecords unbreakable. One visitor to his office heard repeated loud crashes just outside the window and saw some records hurtle down ! He then heard afrer the crashes stopped, a voice call "they all survived being thrown from the 2nd floor window !" and then another vioice shout "Good! Now throw them from the 3rd floor window !".

Interesting! Did they survive being thrown out the third floor?

Magnavox Micromatic Stereophonic, made in England. How it works: the arm goes out to touch any record that might be held to drop, in order to sense the size of this record. It then goes back to rest, drops the record, then puts itself down at the beginning of the record. It appears that it can play any record size larger than about 6 inch. Inside it is printed: "Manufactured at Forth Wayne ind. June 23rd 1967, Serial No: 38145, Parts No: 523709-3, Ref: 6709, Model: W621-03-0.

This Magnavox has several problems. Here's one:
When I got it, the speakers were out of phase only when playing records. But was IN phase when playing am/fm radio. I took almost everything apart trying to fix it, but couldn't. And the wires to the cartridge are way too tiny to play fool around with - and too short. The only option I saw was to reverse the wire to the left speaker. With the record player now "in" phase, that is good enough for me. This of course, puts the radio out of phase.

the only way you can get an Edison record to sound loud is you have to change the phasing on the stylus cartrige. Just by reversing one of the sets of wires is supposed to be able to make the music play as it should. The reason why it has to be that way, is because the grooves were re corded in the up and down method instead of the side to side method. Also the etched label Edison records did`nt survive very well if not stored properly and you let moisture get to them

I noticed this when I played it a few years ago on another player I had. That player was hooked up to an Ampex stereo unit that broke down last year, and it had mono switch and another switch that made sounds at in/out of phase. I should have gotten it fix rather than give it away.
