From CBS, the 3:00 version of the Get Ready campaign, followed by a seldom seen :30 rap version of the theme. The 3:00 version never aired on the network, was made for use in sales presentations and has a big finish with John Madden.

  • I don't think I have seen a longer version of that, will have to see what I can dig up. I think I do have specific show promos from that campaign.

"I think the 90s are gonna be great."

They were great. Too bad they came and went in a flash. It would be a miracle if the 2010s were like the 90s :P

  • I meant 2 say 1 of CBS's short promos for its Get Ready '89 campaign on TV.

  • @barber747 Let's hope so.There are a lots of similarities already, an economic downturn at the very beginning of the decade and the beginning of a rejection of materialism and consumerism in pop culture..

  • I spent my 1st 15 months of my life in the late 80s (9/6/1988-12/31/1989) as a baby.

I've had seen one of CBS's Get Ready Promos on tv when I was very young.

  • I think that was a blue screen that Madden went through at the end.

  • It will be interesting what you can find. As for specific show promos, would they happen to be the testimonials by different show creators/producers about their programs (i.e. Stephen J. Cannell for Wiseguy, Emily Marshall of Coming of Age, etc.), or the episodic promos that used the heading "Are You Ready?". The latter served as the forerunner for 1989's Get Ready campaign.

  • Actually, there are two different network versions of "TYCF" that have been seen online, and a localized shell version from WBAL in Baltimore that I have posted on my channel. However, I was going to ask Tom (eyeontv) if there was a 3:00 or so version of "TYCF", or if the 1:30 version we know of was the longest cut produced.

  • CBSing? I didn't know that "to CBS" was a verb. Great video, with an interesting concept different from past videos.

Now what I'd like to find is anything related to the as-yet-uncovered "Television You Can Feel". All that's turned up from that is one promo.
