  • Hi Sean - I use a yaesu 857 normally set at 100w. The 100w is produced with 13.8v. As I use a 12v sealed lead acid battery, the power output probably starts about 70w & decreases with the battery voltage. After an hour operating I`m probably down to 20 - 30w.

  • I use a FT817 and have some good reults just recntly on 5w SSB on 20m. Still playing around the aerial a bit but i think im nearly there, i think we have worked each other at some point in the past? Sean / M0GIA
