Maintain Historic Homes: Restore and Reproduce Wallpaper -- Andy Bell of Handyman Matters illustrates techniques for restoring historic homes -- he is at the Molly Brown house in Denver in a room that the public has never seen - the back family parlor. The curator discusses how they plan to restore this room using segments of the original wallpaper to reproduce new wallpaper. The ceiling had been dropped in the 1930's to conserve heat, but when that ceiling was removed, they found a wallpaper border said to have been hung by Molly Brown herself. Using a hand-held scanner, an image is collected off the border at the very top of the room, near the ceiling. This image is copied onto wallpaper and then printed and installed
