It's a little preposterous that you describe yourself as a soul singer, yet here you are criticising someone for not being 'soulful' when they are infinitely more soulful and better at singing than you are. Seriously, you've got the kind of voice that Randy Jackson would laugh out of the audition room. And of course you're entitled to your opinion, just as I'm entitled to laugh at it (and your singing).

@myblock2007 I disagree. At least she sings in tune, eh? You might want to try doing that yourself before dishing out criticism to a singer that is highly respected by the likes of Chaka Khan, Rod Tempterton, Quincy Jones, Lionel Richie & Prince. Faith Evans herself has said she's a huge fan of Beverley's. Maybe these people hear something that you can't? I suspect that must be true if you can't hear how terrible your own singing is.

@vocalskills It's a HUGE difference between"Churchy(Pentecostal)" singing and "Soul" singing! Perfect example...Keyshia Cole, Alicia Keys, Toni Braxton...etc are all GREAT "Soul" singers but It's only a FEW that can do both "SOUL & CHURCHY" Like MJB, Faith Evans, Fantasia, Aretha Franklin.....etc. And in MY opinion Beverly can sing but she is lacking the "soul" part of this particular song......MJB can put "soul" to any song because it's natural for her wheather it's rehearsed or not!

@myblock2007 Well that depends on interpretation by both singer and listener but in general, I agree that she isn't as soulful as MJB. However, considering this was performed live without so much as a rehearsal, I don't think it's that bad. @myblock2007 Oh well, not bad for someone you've probably never heard of before though, eh? Not many people can touch MJB but just because she isn't as good as MJB, doesn't mean she isn't good at all. If everyone was as good as MJB then MJB, by definition, wouldn't be good. So just appreciate good music within its own right.
