Herbal products to be outlawed across EU in early 2011

An EU directive passed in 2004 erects "disproportionate" barriers against herbal remedies by requiring them to be "licensed" before they can be sold. It's called the Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products Directive (THMPD), Directive 2004/24/EC. The licensing requirements, however, were intentionally designed to make sure that virtually no herbs could ever meet them.

They have no legal grounds to do this. These measures should be immediately reversed. They can only regulate drugs or ban something that is proven to cause bad health. @CanadaCob Yep we can grow them for cheap! They can't make money off that there, it is all about money and not whats good for you right? I believe so, they can't patent them or make a big profit off of it, so they stick with the drugs idiots take and buy all the time which are not really a cure but a bandage. You said Herbs don't live up to the standards, but some out there work to actually fix an imbalance instead of being a bandaid, in other words herbs and foods heal not stupid dangerous drugs with 100 side effects. Why would they patent a herb they can't make tons off of? They save that for the DRUGS.
