Episode: Cryptic Passage
Level: Old Opera House
Secrets: Four (due to a bug, the game only recognises Three)
Difficulty: Well Done

Play it again, Sam.

Ooh, opera! I've never given it the time of day before since it's so monotonous but I'd definitely go to see an opera starring Hugh Jass. I love that guy! Too bad the production budget of the play has suffered ever since the Cabal rolled into town. They've only got the one mime showing up to perform now. Bah! It's hardly worth the money spent!

Oh dear. Can you spot the slight oversight I did when editing this video? I really don't know how I managed to overlook that one video clip I forgot to stretch to full size. Even at the time when I played it back to myself and I looked for any errors, I must've thought 'Yep, that'll do! No errors to be found here!' Oh well. Nobody's perfect. I suppose on the plus side, it only happens for a small portion of the video. At least it gives you an idea of the resolution I played the game in.

Ooh, there's something else I need to explain as well! If you think I missed a Secret because the end-of-level statistics screen tells you so, let me explain. Cryptic Passage was developed before Monolith released their own expansion, Plasma Pak. That means any bugs or glitches that were to be found in the game weren't properly fixed until that expansion was released. Since Cryptic Passage was released before PP, bugs like the one you see at the end are going to become more prevalent as the expansion goes on. Sometimes in the levels to come, even if I find a Secret, the game somehow keeps managing to confuse itself over the issue. Trust me, it'll become more obvious as time goes by.

No word of a lie, it will!

---------------------------------------

Secret One: 3:41 - 3:52 & 11:46 - 11:52.

Secret Two: 4:15 - 4:30. Although this is an official Secret, the game does not count it due to a bug.

Secret Three: 8:00 - 8:30 & 10:45 - 10:56.

Secret Four: 11:10 - 11:40.

---------------------------------------

Since it has generated a lot of interest after I mentioned it, I've decided to post the link to the page on the official Blood Wiki which translates the Cabal/Cultist Language into English here.

So if you too would like to speak like a cloaked crazed loony Cultist and/or Fanatic, follow the link below:

  • I find the opera choir relaxing than menacing.

  • i like the music for this level

  • Hugh Jass? Yeah, they call him like that since that Wolverine film he made.

Is it me, or the quality of the 480p version feels like 360p?
