This is a tribute video to the British people who lived and died during The Blitz 1940-1941.

I got the inspiration to make this video from my Nan and also my great grandparents who lived in London during the blitz. I've heard so many fascinating stories and terrifying first hand accounts from them about what it was like to live in those dark times, and so i decided to make a video about it.

Also a special mention to the London fire brigade and all the other fire brigades accross the country, the Police, the Ambulance Service and the Air Raid Wardens who all did such a fantastic and dangerous job back then...

I've now added new music to the video as youtube could not authorise the track i was using before and therefore it ended up muted...

  • I have created a music album which charts this same period of British history:

Britain At War - Darkest Hour by Rhesus Monkey. The album covers the Prelude to War, The King's Speech, The Battle of France, and of Britain, and of course The Blitz. I've also created a video to accompany Churchill's address to the United States in June 1941: 'The Old Lion'. You can view that video within my YouTube channel.

  • My mother was from Southampton UK; I don't know how badly her city was bombed compared to other cities in Britain, but in 50's & 60's me & my 2 sisters would see her crawl under tables if a plane flew over, during cold war they would test the air raid sirens she'd about go out of her mind.

She could'nt handle loud noises so good so she'd stay home when we went to 4th of July fireworks shows.

She was tough but WW2 messed her up for a long time....

    shows

  • @ilias2oo6 The War is over ,People should look forward . You should also have some respect to your own people ( e.g The city of Dresden, since it was reduced to almost nothing). At the end of the day, we are all humans and should live in Peace.
