Mary Shelley's mother, Mary Wollstonecraft, was a pioneering feminist, so it's not surprising that "Frankenstein" has quite a bit to say about women and society. But you won't hear Shelley's feminist message from the women in "Frankenstein." No, you'll find it in the monster himself.

  • i love you so much right now

  • Another feminist symbol could be the subplot involving the monster's Bride. The monster orders Victor to create him a mate so he can feel as though he has a place in society. However Victor can't go through with it. Maybe Shelley meant this as a means of saying women shouldn't be used by men to gain status.
