  • What would happen if I used only 2 packs of yeast instead of 3? Last time i used 3 and my bread smelled like beer

  • @irisayala

The bread would be denser and less light and fluffy.

  • I think this is a very nice recipe for someone like myself using the stand up mixer for the first time to make bread. As of right now, my bread is rising beautifly!!! Way back when; I used to do the whole recipe by hand, but this is wonderful. I may not ever buy store bread again!!!

  • @BuffaloBailey1

Super. One thing that's required is a warm area for the yeast to rise. If less than 70 F then the results aren't as good.

Don't be confused between dry and liquid ingredients. By removing the powdered milk you have less dry ingredients so the ratios may not be correct. Also this recipe is for 2 loafs so it's 7 + 1/2 cups of flour not 3 and a half.

  • @divinechef Of course you could use regular milk..... You would just need to decrease the amount of water put in. and why do you say 7 1\2 cups of flour? Why not just say 3 & 1\2 cups of flour?

  • @divinechef Okay, thank you for replying :)

For this recipe yes. I got it from my Cuisinart stand mixer recipe book. But if you don't want to use this powdered milk look for my french toast recipes, I don't think I made bread with the milk, just flour, water, yeast, sugar and oil. Thanks for watching.

  • Is the milk necessary?
