my car got towed yesterday for the same noise mine turned off on me tho!! im scared subarus warranty wont cover it!! what they do to yours to fix?

possible causes:
lightened crank pulley
reused crank shaft and not rebalanced
lightened flywheel and not resurfaced or rebalanced
lastly a loose nut behind the wheel that dumps the clutch at redline
(when you shift let the clutch burn a tad bit so you dont have the car jerk back and forth)

very unlikely that your bearings are spun. sounds like a bad end play bearing which could lead to oil pressure loss at op temp then possibly kill your bearings

@southernclassik the reality is the ej25 on north american gas and it's tiny fucking clearance is a recipe for breakage. .003mm to out on the piston clearances, it's little wonder the emission laws are making these things drop like flies.

@jakubgt1 So true, I couldn't stand how SOA never owned up to their mistakes. Drove me crazy and never bought another subaru.
