  • Yeah if you were CEO or leadership in any positions, you will be a reductionism. Why ? It is based on our needs or equal standard in reality. My question is what will you call our US president ? Holism ? My answer is no. It is a reductionism. President has to do and solve the problem for us and America. For one example, if your car is broke down due to bad alternator, it needs a new part before it can be running again.

  • @67ulfan Of course. But who said I'm only a CEO and nothing else? Didn't you know I also do my own accounting? I also do my own strategic planning. I also do the labor work. I also do my own corporate taxes. I inspect all purchases that the company makes. I also offer consulting work for my own company. I do everything in my company. So what does that make me? A reductionist? No. But like I said to others reductionists are important part of wholes. But they are lesser than wholes.

  • Thanks for clarifying that for me Barry. But from what you are implying here. I guess "holism" isn't for me. I don't practice many cultures to become whole. Instead I chose to keep my culture alive and well since many N8Vs are not learning much about their own tribes&history. And that non-N8Vs are thriving on NDN culture 4 self-profit & personal gains. Good 2 hear from U @ last.

  • Sure. I understand. I don't think holism for everybody. If it were then it'd be a very dull world to live in. I agree with you about not many N8V are learning much about their own tribes & history. It's important that they start with their own before they learn other cultures. I agree with you on that. Good to hear from you as well. Stay well.

  • Based on what concept is "Holism" applied? Can mr. Sewell explain this?

  • Holism is based on it's own concept, uniquely. It is not based on foreign concept but its own. Holism is a theory in itself. Nothing more and nothing less.

  • Supposed if you were a NAD president, what would you do for Deaf Americans' right?

  • Barry is the gems of wisdom, words are both reliable and true. Yes, reality of those things, since they are so different from what we expect. Barry you are pure holism. Indian have your new name is Hawk :) strenght /wisdom

  • Hi Sterling. You don't have to sign in order to express your opinion. This is done in text format so feel free and express yourself. One's identity is based on person's folklife background and experience. Some people are stuck with one culture and some are blessed with wealth of multiple cultures. The choice is ours. This brings us to 'whole', that of understanding all cultures and respecting them for what they are. People who limit themselves to one culture is not practicing holism.
