Don't sell older dogs short. The 3 to 8 year old set has left puppyhood, dog adolescence and all it's chewing and hyperactivity behind him and so is a bit more settled, requiring less maintenance than youger dogs, has plenty of good years left and CAN BE TRAINED! People looking for a dog to "fit in" a bit quicker should pay attention to the older dog.

Also, for purebreds, breed rescue organizations are popping and can start you off right.

Not that there is anything wrong with a mixed breed.

Adopted dogs are better. They are more loyal to their owners. They don't get sick easily just like breeded dogs do. They eat whatever you give them and they'll be happy with it.

today ive volunteered for animal spay/nueter operations and made me realise how animals need love too. we know most of us dont have enough responsibilities but adopting a pet will change an animals life. now im thinking of adopting a pet because they need love too. :)

I could never kill a dog ever. I don't like the idea of putting them asleep ether.

I could understand if they had rabi's but any other reason I would never put

an animal to sleep.

@Totalsnigedy Aw, don't be scared of dogs :( My whole life my dogs have been my best friends, they welcome me home everyday, protected me from a man who tried to grab me from behind, and they hug me when I'm sad. Dogs are wonderful and if you give them your unconditional love then they'll do the same :)
