  • great bike! can you tell me the top speed?

    Thanks

  • @pedrorc15 I cant really remember, I owned this bike over 9 years ago. Sold in in 2001 ish from memory. I had factory gearing on it, which was fine for the bush and still ok on road. I'd say around 140km/h, but thats a guess.

  • wheelies up hills are easy bro, try down hill in 5th gear standing on the seat.

    Still looks cool though.

  • @BNR34GTRVSPECNUR @BNR34GTRVSPECNUR They sure are. Lower balancing point, a good way to learn thats for sure!

    Thanks.

  • i wish i could do killer wheelies like that on my XR400 :-(

  • @SparkyDave1981 You can with some practice. I taught myself - find a steep hill and give it a try. Ive never fallen off doing them, even when learning. Just take your time, dont rush into it.

I would say with the stock set up, sprockets, 70 - 75. I have had mine up to 70 and still had a little room to go

  • @methodsin01 that sounds about right, our XR400 motard tops out at 140

  • @wdsracer yeah' i'll post a vid soonies hey bro, i guess we need to remember that i own an 06 CRF450-X so it will be quite a bit easier d=for me than on your humble little XR400-R, but i'd still give it a crack on yours just the same,. :-)

  • @pedrorc15 the top speed is somewhere around 55mph for stock gearing and about 70mph with a 40 tooth rear sproket
