This video gives a glimpse into the amazing connection between Beethoven -- a 15 year old, 1500 pound Beluga whale -- and his keepers at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington. After an unfortunate turn of events, Beethoven is the only Beluga at the aquarium, and it has been determined that he will be sent to a breeding program in Texas. This video is intended as a remembrance of Beethoven, as an animal ambassador, a good natured being who accepted captivity and flourished, and the years he spent in Washington state bringing smiles to the many people who visited him.

I didn't know Beethoven was sent to Sea World until today when I went to the PDZA for the first time in 6 years. sad I didn't get to say goodbye.

@Sk8erLuvsMusic ... Yeah, Beethoven was a fixture at PDZA for years. It was sad that he had to leave, but I've heard that he's at a breeding facility, so someday there may be babies.
