@LivingfortheFather Search for condenser* microphone at Wikipedia. This is over simplification, but basically the sound waves alter the capacitance of a capacitor, that makes a charge placed on the capacitor vary. That in turn helps modulate a DC current in to an audio wave form.
*Condenser is an early term for capacitors, that is not used in the context of a capacitors much anymore.

@99rhetbaboons No a capacitor will not attain a voltage higher than the voltage applied to it, and doesn't charge to the supply voltage "right away". Yes capacitors are used in tank circuits. Capacitors can be paired inductors or resistors to create filter circuits. Capacitors are used to create wave forms. capacitors are used in voltage multipliers. Capacitors are used to couple two electronic circuits. No doubt I missed something but that's a start, and is more than this video provided.

I know why capacitors are used in electrical, electronic circuits. Anyone who doesn't, and viewed this video to learn why, because the title indicated they would learn why, would still be ignorant.

a more intelligent tutorial would answer a question like : WHEN and WHERE to use these devices and WHAT TYPE of capacitor to use in certain circuits or location.
